Simply Adorned has emerged out of my lifetime love of pearls and finally finding my creative artistic niche. My first pearls I received as a child, brought home by my parents from Hawaii, little rice freshwater pearls. They were so special to me and I still have them to this day. My shop is really a one woman production. I purchase fantastic unusual pearls, gemstones, findings and raw materials from all over the world. Then I design, create, photograph, write descriptions and sell on Etsy all over the world. Though I wish I could say I live in an exotic location, exotic as some of the locations my pearls are from, I do not. I do, however, live in one of the most beautiful areas of Canada. My studio is located in my home on the east coast of Canada, along the Atlantic Ocean. When you purchase jewelry from me, at Simply Adorned, you are buying a unique handcrafted piece, handmade by me, most often one of a kind.
I am now making most of my earring hooks and clasps, it is gratifying to take a piece of wire, bend it, hammer it, and tumble it (in a tumbler made by my spouse, thank you very much). Pearls, in various sizes and shapes, the more irregular the better, are found in abundance in my shop. I love to combine them with gemstones, to get that fabulous mix of luminous shine and sparkle.
I do hand knotting with power pro, beaded’s secret or silk, but my favourite is wire wrapping - linking gems and pearls together - from the earth and the sea.
I do take custom orders for weddings, individual pieces or sets.

A bit about me....
I grew up on a hobby farm, nestled at the foot of a mountain in British Columbia, surrounded by prairies, mountains, streams, tall trees and plenty of nature. Many of my family members are painters, weavers, sewers, needleworkers. No other jewellers, but my great great grandfather and his brothers had a gold mine in Dawson City. I grew up admiring jewelry pieces made from gold mined in their mine.
I have sewn since I was a teenager, but found my true love in jewelry design and creation about 12 years ago. In the summer I ride my Vespa scooter, we have 2 English Bull Terriers, my husband and I are avid kayakers, we love to snorkel especially when on Maui, our daughter is serving her country in the Air Force and is currently deployed on a Naval ship. I am a full-time healthcare professional by day, my dream is to retire and devote more time to creating beautiful pieces of wearable art.
